Our French doors are supplied unglazed, giving you the choice of glazing style to select that will best complement your home interior. Choose between a standard clear double-glazing unit or even leaded or slightly tinted glass to best suit the look and feel of your room. The approximate size for glazing is 1690x618mm. (Please note this is an approximate measurement only based on visible glazing. We recommend you use this as a guide for quotation purposes only and to wait until your door arrives with you before committing to purchasing your glazing.)
The solid oak French door is also known as the 'Pattern 20' door. However, the majority of these doors available on the market are made using veneers, whereas ours are made from 100% solid oak.
Our range of external doors are made from solid oak; however, we do not recommend usage in exposed areas, i.e., direct rain or hot sun. Therefore, we recommend use in sheltered areas with a porch or canopy. We also supply an Oak Weatherbar to match the door, which will be required should the door be "open to the elements". Sold separately as not everyone will need one...ie, if your door is situated within an enclosed porch. Click here for Oak Weatherbars
Please follow these treatment and maintenance instructions to preserve the beauty and strength of the wood.
External Doors are supplied unfinished. You will need to use a treatment suitable for external doors; we recommend the Impranol range for External doors; Click here For Impranol
Our external doors must be treated before being hung, retreated every six months, and kept dry at all times through the use of a canopy or similar. For full guidelines, please visit our External Door Protection Page.
