Treatex Hardwax Oil Dark Oak (1l, 2.5l)
Treatex Stain - Dark Oak
After a significant amount of time testing different Oils, waxes and Hardwax oils we are pleased to recommend Treatex stain as our preferred method of tinting for our INTERNAL Oak Doors, the reason for this is simple, the finish is the best by far.
Treatex stains enhances and alter the appearance of all types of internal joinery, manufactured on a base of natural and sustainable raw materials including: linseed oil, sunflower oil, beeswax, carnauba wax and candelilla wax.
Being a stain, the oil will soak into the wood and alter the overall colour of the door to whatever shade you prefer.
Suitable for all types of internal joinery such as flooring, worktops, stairs, doors and furniture (We have this on our own worktop and cannot recommend it enough)
The colour tone range is not a protectant, Treatex Hardwax Oil Clear Matt must be applied on top to protect the door
TREATEX IS NOT SUITABLE FOR EXTERNAL DOORS AND WOODWORK
Application
Apply with a brush or lint free rag
Ready to use - you don't need to thin it, simply stir it well.
Apply the first coat thinly, thoroughly and evenly along the wood grain, removing any surplus immediately. Allow this coat to dry for at least 8-10 hours ensuring good ventilation. After applying the first coat if you do not achieve the desired finish you're after, we recommend applying a second coat ensuring the first coat is completely dry.
Next, apply two coats of Treatex Clear Matt using the same method as you used before. Again allow 8-10 hours for drying and ventilate between each layer.
When the door is thoroughly dry, you may buff or polish by hand or with a machine to enhance the sheen.
Usage
1 litre is enough to cover 3 doors with 2 layers. Have a look at our coverage calculator below to see how much you need!
The colour tone range is not a protectant, Treatex Clear Matt must be applied on top to protect the door
