Preparation

Ensure all previous sealed finishes are removed from the wood being worked upon. Clean and dry the surface before application.

Application

This product is only suitable for internal solid oak doors, wooden floors and furniture.

Stir the Osmo Polyx oil tint to ensure even pigmentation, then apply a thin coat with a sponge, mohair roller or high-quality paint brush. Work in the direction of the wood grain and ensure any excess is removed.

It is usual to use one coat of your chosen colour of Polyx Oil Tints and a top coat of the Clear Osmo Polyx Oil, which reduces any visible damage to the coloured layer. If the colour needs to be darkened after the 1st coat has been applied then 1 more coloured coat can be applied, finished with a clear coat.

The white version of this product is ideal for achieving a limed or white washed effect. This is also known as a bleached effect, for a stronger bleached effect a 2nd coat of the white can be applied.

Drying times

Allow 8-10 hours and provide good ventilation. Product will be 'dust dry' after 6 hours approximately. For cork surfaces the drying time can be up to 24 hours.
