Osmo Polyx Oil Clear Satin (0.375l, 0.75l, 2.5l, 10l)
Osmo Polyx Oil is the number 1 product that we recommend to our customers when they are looking for a protective oil for their new solid oak internal doors. The product has the same effect on old wooden doors too, giving them another chance to impress! The product is micro-porous, meaning it will soak right into the grain of the wood and enhance it! Even with a clear oil, the satin finish can add a subtle contemporary touch to your woodwork.
The oil is incredibly easy to apply. Simply get a lint-free rag or paintbrush, and glide the oil over the timber, 2 coats should do it! Depending on how thick you apply the oil, a 1L tin of oil should cover approx. 8 square metres with 2 coats. Applying this oil will make your doors and woodwork resistant to household liquids, such as water, tea, coffee, wine and beer, so you don't have to worry about life's little spills.
You'll also be pleased to know it is thoroughly tested and is European Pharmascopoeia compliant, meaning that it only used de-aromatised white spirit in the ingredients, along with ensuring they are benzene free.
Application
This product is not suitable for veneer doors.
Oswax is ready to use - you don't need to thin it, simply stir it well.
Apply the 1st coat thinly, thoroughly and evenly along the wood grain, removing any surplus immediately. Allow this coat to dry for at least 4-6 hours ensuring good ventilation.
Apply the 2nd coat as you did the first - this coat will flow much easier than the first. Again allow 4-6 hours for drying and ventilate well.
When the door is thoroughly dry, you may buff or polish by hand or with a machine.
Clean your brushes or rollers using white spirit or benzene-free brush cleaner.
