Our Bespoke Ledge with Optional Braces Solid Oak Door is a recent arrival into our country-style door range, and we love it. Handcrafted, this solid and striking door oozes class and quality. Although traditional in its styling and well-suited to a cottage, this door is extremely versatile and could be easily incorporated within a modern property as well.

This door comes made to your own exact measurements, though this door is also available in common sizes here.

This product is similar to other styles, but what really sets it apart is the added benefit of reversible braces if required. These braces will allow you to use the same style of door throughout your home, whilst being able to add variation between your internal rooms; you can add the braces to some doors and leave the braces off others. This, of course, depends on the look you’re hoping to achieve in each room.

In that case, we have an expansive line of solid oak architraves and skirting boards. We also stock a classic range of solid oak frames, and linings also definitely help fully achieve that prestige final look you are looking for.

The ledges are trimmed perfectly to fit snuggly across the entire width of the door. They’re attached to the vertical boards with a traditional and rustic-looking plug, and customers have continually expressed how amazing these are as a finishing touch. Only the finest timber is selected, and the intricate details of the wood can be seen in the varying colours, graining and visible knots. 

We do provide an in-house oiling/finishing option on our doors, but if you choose for your door to come unfinished, we would recommend finishing your oak door first, and then every 6 months for it to truly remain protected and fresh. We personally recommend our range of Treatex Hardwax oils for this, or alternatively, our Osmo oils.
