Our range of stunning window sills has been machined from the highest quality first-grade, kiln-dried solid American Oak, which provides an elegant and warm natural wood grain look. We never use veneers in our window sills, and you may notice some variation in the grain pattern and colour of the board. This is due to the fact that the window sill is constructed with 3 planks of solid oak, which are edge glued together with ultra-strong glue on the narrow edge to create one single larger board. We choose to use this method of construction rather than using one whole plank of wood as it is the most environmentally friendly option. Using a single plank of wood would involve trimming down a large piece of timber, leaving the remaining wood unusable and wasted. When constructing the windowsills, our team always makes the effort to select the closest matching boards so the difference is minimal, but we think the variation brings a bit of character to the wood! 

The window sills are supplied with a machined, rounded front edge and are unfinished, allowing you to oil, lacquer, varnish, or paint them in the finish of your choice. This allows you to personalise the window sill to complement your existing interior finish or to create a standout, focal feature.

All of our oak window sills can be purchased in lengths of up to 2.5m, and this specific sill has a 250mm depth and 25mm thickness. Window sills are an excellent way to add a hint of nature to your property and can also be used as a feature window seat to provide the final touch to an interior renovation. Wood grain finish window sills work particularly well in rural properties with a traditional look, but they can also be used in a more contemporary home to break up a minimalist, neutrally coloured interior.
