Our oak window sills are extremely popular and add some real detail and character to a home interior, thanks to an elegant natural wood grain finish. All of our window sills are machined from first grade (the very best), kiln-dried solid oak, which gives them both a beautiful finish and fantastic durability. We opt for an edge-glued construction method on our window sills as we are always looking to use the most sustainable and environmentally friendly options when building our products. This method allows us to reduce the waste of timber as much as possible by using three solid planks of wood, which have been matched as closely as possible. The boards are then glued together with industrial-strength glue on the narrowest edge to create one large plank of wood.
The wood grain finish is complementary to both traditional and more contemporary interiors alike. The window sills are well-suited to a character property where exposed wood plays a significant role in achieving the desired look. They are also extremely effective for breaking up a neutrally coloured, modern interior and adding some detail without being overpowering.
All of our solid oak window sills are supplied with a rounded front profile and are unfinished to allow you to oil, lacquer, paint or varnish to either stand out as a focal feature or instead to match your existing interior finish. This particular sill has a 32mm thickness and 250mm depth.
